Lomax

J+J/Invision has partnered with Styron to produce latex backing created with LOMAX™ Technology - an innovative solution that uses landfill gas as renewable energy. LOMAX™ Technology collects landfill gas from the Dalton, GA landfill through a system of pipes and blowers. This captured landfill gas fuels the Emulsion Polymers plant by replacing >90 percent of their natural gas consumption to manufacture latex used in carpet backing. With this technology Styron is eliminating the use of approximately 240 billion Btu of fossil fuels or enough electricity used to heat 2,100 homes each year in the United States. They are also able to reduce oil consumption by more then 200,000 barrels per year.
