- Partnered with the Boy Scouts of America to build a small dock on one side of the wetlands to allow better viewing of the wildlife living there. The wetlands provide vital protection to our waterways, as well as a sanctuary to a wide variety of wildlife.

2007
- J&J Industries partnered with the Boy Scouts of America to build steps leading down to the wetlands. The new stairs allow our employees and people in the community to access the wetlands and enjoy nature while offering the Scout Troop an opportunity to complete a project as a group.
2003
- J&J Industries developed a 20-acre section of the campus as a U.S. Nature Wetland Conservancy to filter and purify storm water run-off. Upon development, the wetland area was donated to the City of Dalton for the community to enjoy.
2001
- J&J's extruded nylon, branded Encore® SD Ultima®, now contains a minimum of 15% recycled nylon.

- By 1997, the Green Team evolved into a complete environmental program called EnAct® (environmental action). The EnAct program is our organization-wide focus on reducing, recycling, reusing.

1991
- Started the Green Team, an organized group of employees from all sectors of the mill that is focused on sustainable processes and office environments. The primary accomplishments of the Green Team include the use of safer materials throughout our manufacturing facilities and in our products. We also put an extreme focus on water purification by reducing and controlling the amount of pollutants that are released in water used by product manufacturing.
