Campus Green

Conservation is our company-wide focus that includes community involvement, social responsibility, environmental and sustainability concerns and is an integral part of the day-to-day conduct for all of our employees while they are performing their duties at J&J Industries. We call this the Campus Green initiative.

Our priority of conservation first began by identifying waste streams throughout our facility and throughout each manufacturing step.  As the process of waste reduction began, it was easy to see the many areas in which we minimize waste to landfill, wastewater, and thermal and electrical energy.

Throughout our plant and throughout our offices, items such as paper, cardboard, strapping, roll wrap, plastic bottles, aluminum cans and other metals are collected daily for recycling. In addition to collection of recyclable materials, in July 2008, all individual trash cans were removed from offices and workstations.

Each department in the corporate office has only one garbage can, and throughout the manufacturing areas you will find just two to three shared trash cans.  This practice was put in place to limit the amount of waste by restricting easy access to a garbage can.

Recycling bins are kept at each individual desk rather than waste cans. Before getting up to throw anything away, our associates consider the recyclability of the item first.
