eKoTac Modular Adhesive
DESCRIPTION
J&J Industries eKoTac is an aggressive, pressure-sensitive adhesive designed for the installation of J+J/Invision eKo® (non-PVC) modular carpet tiles. J+J/Invision eKoTac is nonflammable and both alkali and water-resistant. It has low odor and “zero” calculated VOC’s, which makes it ideal for use in schools, health care facilities, public buildings and anywhere odor is a concern.
J&J Industries eKoTac is approved by the CRI for the Green Label Plus program. This adhesive also meets or exceeds California requirements as specified in Rules 102 and 443 as well as California SCAQMD Rule 1168.

APPLICATION
1/16" X 1/32" X 1/32" U-notch trowel (maximum of 120 square yards per 4 gallon pail).
Adhesive must be full spread - do not use the grid method. Allow to completely dry until transparent or does not transfer to finger when touched. Drying time will vary with temperature, humidity and air velocity; however, do not allow adhesive to dry for more than two hours before installing floor covering. Roll with the 75 or 100 pound carpet roller upon completion (depending on the type of floor covering being installed). See J+J/Invision Carpet Installation handbook for further instructions.
SUBSTRATES
J+J/Invision eKoTac can be applied over a variety of porous and nonporous surfaces including: steel, terrazzo, APA approved plywood, and properly prepared concrete.
The installation site must be acclimated with HVAC in operation. The floor and room temperature, as well as flooring materials and adhesive, must be maintained at 65 – 95 degrees F with the humidity below 65% for 48 hours prior to, during and after the testing and installation. Subfloors must be structurally sound, smooth, dry and free of dust, dirt, wax, paint, grease, curing agents, unapproved sealers, old adhesives and foreign matter. Concrete floors must be fully cured and dry. Calcium Chloride Moisture test results must not exceed 3.0 pounds, pH must be between 5.0 and 9.0, and In-Situ relative humidity reading (ASTM F2170) must not exceed 75%.
When installing new flooring over old cutback adhesive residue, use DriSeal concrete Moisture Sealer as a barrier. Following instructions for use, apply the DriSeal only after existing adhesives are mechanically scraped to a smooth minimum residue. Do not use solvent or liquid adhesive removers.
SHELF LIFE
One year from manufacturing date, in an unopened container. Protect from freezing.
This adhesive is not photochemically reactive as defined by California Rules 102 and 443.
